Travel awards are provided to students for attendance to the annual ACRS conference (and the ICRS conference held every 4 years).

ACRS Student Research awards - OPEN
Each year the ACRS supports the research of up to five students by the provision of Student Awards. The most outstanding proposals are awarded the Terry Walker Prize of $4000 or the Danielle Simmons Prize of $4000. Up to three ACRS research awards of $2500 will also be awarded. Awards may not be used to fund conference attendance or travel not related to field studies.

ACRS Student Conference Presentation Awards – CLOSED
These are awarded to the most outstanding student oral and poster presentations at the annual ACRS conference. If you are a student and wish to participate, please register you interest when filling the Conference registration form. Prizes change each year depending on the sponsors. However, prizes often include cash (e.g., Vicki Harriot award =$500 AUD), bench fees for research stations in the Great Barrier Reef (e.g., Lizard Island RS, Heron Island RS, One tree island RS Orpheus island RS…), diving gear, and books.
*Opens each year during the ACRS conference.
