Student Writing Retreat
The Australian Coral Reef Society is offering up to 22 student scholarships to attend a writing retreat at Townsville and Magnetic Island. Timeframe is currently undetermined due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Please check back in later for an update on potential writing retreat dates.
The end goal of this workshop is to produce a complete first draft of a manuscript for supervisor feedback or submission. Students are expected to have a completed data set, which they have discussed with supervisors/collaborators before the start of the retreat. The retreat will be led by a group of experienced researchers and the format will consist of short directed talks, followed by writing time and peer-editing.
Scholarships to attendees will include accommodation, catering, and travel expenses. As spaces are limited we are asking for a small financial contribution from each successful applicant to show their agreed commitment to attending.
Location: APEX Camps, Magnetic Island, QLD
Commitment fee: $150 non-refundable
Ferry Transfer to Magnetic Island: SeaLink Queensland is sponsoring free ferry transfer to and from Magnetic Island for this year’s writing retreat!

Sorry, applications are closed as of February 3rd 2020. Please check back in for the 2021 writing retreat announcement later this year
