The ACRS are inviting both members and non-members to participate in this year’s photo competition. Each member can submit up to three photographs in each category:
- Science-in-action – Photography is a visual and engaging form of storytelling. Show us your research using a single photo (a composite of multiple images will not be accepted).
- Diversity – Tropical reefs are home to the most diverse assemblages of life. This category is for photos of interesting/unique specimens and assemblages of species.
- Macro – Show us the fine detail of life (including unicellular organisms) through macro photography. Microscopy photos are also welcome.
A $50 prize will be awarded to the best photo in each category. Additionally, we will award $50 to the most popular photo (People’s choice to be selected by online voting by the Society’s membership) and a $100 prize for the best overall photo. The best photos from each category will be showcased in the 2021 Reef Matters magazine.
Deadline for photo submissions Close AEST 5pm on 2nd April 2021.
Please submit a high quality photos, high resolution version of your photo(s) via email to austcoralreefsoc@gmail.com.
By submitting your photo:
1) you agree to provide the Australian Coral Reef Society a non-commercial licence to use your photo in its magazine and through its social media channels, with the photo acknowledged to you (I.e. you retain copyright);
2) you confirm the photo has been taken by you and is not subject to any other restrictions that would affect the Australian Coral Reef Society from using it.
